sybex’s new test bank website

On November 14, 2024, switched to new test bank software. That means the mock exams and flashcards and the like are now on a new website.

If you are registering for the first time

Create an account

  1. Go to study.learning.wiley.com
  2. Click to create a new account

Register your book

  1. Click “Redeem Test Bank”
  2. Choose Sybex and the book you are using.
  3. Then answer a question about the book and you are in. The old PIN code system is no longer used

If you were already using the old site

  1. Go to study.learning.wiley.com
  2. Click to create a new account
  3. Login using your credentials from the old site

Note that any books you had registered that haven’t expired yet will appear. However, your progress/history on them will not.

Different than Real Exam

Be aware that the exam software is different than on the real exam. For example, the real exam lets you flag questions for later, navigate to specific questions, or end the exam from any question.

How to register for the OCA 8 or OCP 8 study guide online materials

Wiley/Sybex recently redid their website. One of our readers (and I), didn’t find it that intuitive how to register the book to gain access to the practice materials. Their tech support was excellent and now I know what to do!

It’s actually the same as the old procedure. I just had trouble finding the links

Step 1 – Get an access code

  • Go to the registration URL
  • Choose the OCA 8 or OCP 8 book from the pull down
  • Fill out the form. Note that you’ll need the book handy to answer one question about it. Don’t worry. The question will be something like “what is the caption of Figure 1.2” and not something that requires understanding the material

Step 2 – Get the access code.

Wait until you get an access code in your email. The instructions say it takes up to 24 hours, but I got it within 5 minutes.

Step 3 – Add code on the new test bank website

If you bought our OCA/OCP Practice Exam book, you already have an account on this site. If so:

  • Log in
  • Click redeem access code
  • Copy/paste the access code from the email

If not, sign up for an account now.

  • Go to the test bank site
  • Click create account
  • Copy/paste the access code from the email
  • Filll out the other fields

OCA/OCP 8 Programmer Practice Tests Kindle Edition Available

Scott and I are thrilled to announce that the Kindle version of our third book, OCA / OCP Practice Tests: Exam 1Z0-808 and Exam 1Z0-809, is now available for purchase on Amazon! The paperback edition, available for pre-order, is currently printing is shipping in April.

This book, has over 1000 practice questions. Each exam objective has a chapter designed to focus you in on key points and reinforce them. The two practice exams closely simulate the real exam even telling you how many answers are correct.

Both the paper and Kindle editions come with free access to Sybex’s online exam simulator. The publisher has redone the simulator since our previous editions were printed. I got to beta test the software and was overall happy with the new interface.
